If you’re not a big fan of beer or can’t find a nearby Irish pub or parade to celebrate, we’ve got the perfect green concoctions and drinkware to help you create your own soirée and wow your friends!  In fact, our shimmering glasses may make you forget all about wearing beads. What’s the number one Swoozie’s must-have you might ask?  The green Acrylic Double Wall Glitter Tumblers of course!

The Shamrocker is a sophisticated yet simple tequila mixture with a delicious fruity taste. Its combination of melon and orange gives you just the right amount of flavor and fun. Garnish with a few orange slices to really prove you know what you’re doing. Simply mix in a cocktail shaker, throw in some ice and enjoy!

 2. The Classic Mojito

The Mojito is a classic cocktail that can be served on St. Patrick’s Day or any day of the year (If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably already had your share of these before). Its hint of lime and mint leaves gives the perfect homage to the color green, and it is best served in any tall glass. You can also make your own simple syrup for extra bragging rights.

Ingredients:

½ oz. lime juice

1 tsp. refined sugar

3-5 mint leaves

A splash of club soda to top off

Try It! Swoozie’s Acrylic Double Wall Glitter Tumblers will take your cocktails to a brand new level! Mojitos are traditionally served with stirring rods, so the built in straws are sure to keep your drinks tasty and fresh. The double-walled acrylic layer also helps keep the beverages cold.  While you’re at it, stock up on a few green Personalized Napkins also!

4. Irish Tea Party

Simply stated, the Irish Tea Party is the Irish version of a Long Island Iced Tea. Complete with a Southern and Irish staple, this whiskey mix brings both worlds together in one glass. Serve with Irish Tea Cake to compliment your mixology skills, and garnish with a lime wedge.

Ingredients:
2 oz. sweetened, chilled green tea

½ oz. Jameson Irish Whiskey

½ oz. Absinthe to rinse in glass

A splash of ginger ale

Try It! Pair this drink or any treats with these Kate Spade Cocktail Napkins and Kate Spade Coasters, designed with cute, popular sayings. Both sets come with a blue pair, which actually was the initial color of choice for St. Patrick’s Day in the 17th century!

We’re super inspired by all of your ideas and have collected some of our favorites to share with you:

Fabulous Mason Jar Ideas

Mason jars are a Swoozie’s favorite. From our redneck wine glasses to our personalized Mason jar sets, there’s so much to love about these adorable jars! Keep reading for ideas on how to utilize the southern fad during the upcoming entertainment season.

Mason Jar Candles

Get creative with these and cover the outside of the jar with lace, twine, or burlap. Fill the jar up with some water and fashion your very own floating candle! We also love filling the bottom of the jar with some themed goodies for a tea candle to sit on.  It adds some extra magic to any party.

Sweet treats: Mason Jar recipes

There are lots of jar recipes available online if you’re entertaining, but we think this idea is great for any dessert! Think ice cream, root beer floats, etc. Dress the jars up with some twine or ribbons and attach a spoon to each one. It doesn’t get much cuter than this!

Fashionably Professional = Fabulously Successful

I’m pretty new at this whole “being a professional” thing.  Accustomed to strolling the sidewalks of campus and sitting in the classrooms adorning my sweats, I’ve had to make some adjustments in the past few years since I graduated college.

However, I knew that if I was going to have to retire the football mascot t-shirt and cotton bunched pants, I was at least going to do it in style. In fact, nothing says, “I mean business” then by truly looking the part.

Don’t get stuck in the rut of black business suits and a leather brief case.

Feeling fashionably fabulous makes you confident. Having confidence makes you better at what you do. So, here is how I stay fashionably professional to maintain my professional certainty.

Ditch the boring business attire and add a little golden bling to your wardrobe. Not only is it great for fall, but reeks of professional elegance. This Lilly Pulitzer scarf and clutch do just the trick!

I love adding a little shimmer and color to my desk to keep the office feeling comfortable.  This 2012-2013 planner helps me stay organized and the candle keeps the place smelling great!

These black and gold thank you notes are a perfect way to show your gratitude. Never underestimate the power of the handwritten letter, or the importance of how chic they should look.

Fall Prints with Vera Bradley

The days are getting shorter and there is a slight chill in the air as Fall sets in. Vera Bradley is making the transition sweet, chic and stylish for us with some fabulous new prints in their collection!

October brings a great awareness to Breast Cancer, a cause near and dear to our hearts here at Swoozie’s. With so many special ladies in our lives, it’s a cause that nearly everyone has a personal tie to, unfortunately, and one we support wholeheartedly.

For that reason, we are loving Vera Bradley’s “Ribbons” print collection that pays tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The beautiful navy backdrop provides the perfect palette to showcase strands of pink ribbons that dance across the prints patterns.

And, we’re proud to team up with the team at Vera Bradley to offer up a complimentary Ribbons coin purse with the purchase of any Ribbons print item at Swoozies.com*!

With mustard yellow being a stand-out wedding color this fall, we love seeing it quilted up for you to enjoy in Vera’s new “Provencal” print. They paint the perfect picture of fall, and France, with a lovely description of the print straight from the designers themselves:

Feast your eyes on our ode to the sun-filled sights of Provence, France. Vivid, folkloric beauty from the region inspired this charming floral delight. A warm collection of colors including spiced orange, golden saffron, brick red, olive green and teal dance across an earthy mustard background and over the detailed foulard interior design.

What is your favorite print for fall?

Glitter Fudge Party!

Hi, Ya’ll! I’m glad to be swinging over from PIZZAZZERIE to share a super cute recipe + favor idea with Swoozie’s! If there is one thing I love, it’s anything SPARKLY! Now, it’s not often you see sparkling food is it? Well, this cute recipe is for GLITTER PARTY FUDGE! Yep, that’s right – glitter + fudge together = a match made in heaven.

I made this recipe in pink (another favorite of mine), but you can make it any color you want. Match your party colors, team colors for tailgates, holiday colors, etc. It’s super easy to customize this recipe to match just about any party theme or event.

GLITTER PARTY FUDGE  (Makes 45–50 fudge squares)
*adapted the sprinkle fudge in my book Candy Making For Kids

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 ⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package pink candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • Pink disco dust* (you can find it here)

Beat cream cheese until smooth and fluffy (electric mixer with paddle attachment). Gradually add powdered sugar and salt. Melt candy melts in microwavable bowl in 30-second intervals until smooth (or in double boiler). Pour into cream cheese mixture and beat until blended (about 2 minutes on medium). Stir in extracts. Spread fudge mixture into 9 x 9-inch pan (quickly spray pan with nonstick cooking spray). Refrigerate until chilled and then cut into squares or use cookie cutters for fun shapes. Pour a small amount of disco dust in a small bowl. Dip fudge pieces into disco dust. Sprinkle excess off.
*Disco Dust is non-toxic but considered for “decorative” use. Someone will inevitably say “it’s not edible”. Well, I would not let children eat this decorative glitter by the spoonful but adding a little sparkle to your fudge? No problem. It was created for the baking industry.

Serve up this glitter party fudge as a sweet favor at a baby shower (think pink for girl’s or blue for boy’s) or birthday party. It makes a deliciously sweet and sparkly favor idea. I love pairing black and white stripes with a bold color so I popped a little glitter fudge piece down into little black and white striped treat bags. Fold over and tie with a big pink bow (bows make everything better). Set these in a little basket or on a tray as guests leave for a sweet favor idea. Or display them on a pretty white cake stand, your choice! Either way, your guests will be wowed when they see sparkling sweet fudge!

Enjoy this recipe + happy partying!
