Today marks the Unofficial First Day of Summer! And, it has been a fabulous Spring! I am so proud of our Swoozie’s girls for all of the time and effort they have spent in the community. Our neighbors are such a big part of our lives, they are like family, and we consider it a privilege to take part in and support the organizations and events that are near and dear to their (and our) hearts!
On April 13th, our Chastain Square location hosted a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Shopping Event, donating back a portion of the proceeds from sales that day to support this hospital that does so much for the Atlanta community and far beyond.
We loved being a part of the Junior League of Boca Raton’s annual General Membership, ‘Sex and the City’ event. What a fun and exciting group of ladies who know how to throw a party! Our Palm Beach Gardens team put together 200 favor bags for the guests. We look forward to being a partner with this organization for years to come!
As we neared Cinco de Mayo celebration time, the ladies at our Birmingham store hosted a Mexican Fiesta to benefit Magic Moments, a non-profit organization that fulfills the non-medical wishes of chronically ill Alabama children. What better way to bring a smile to the face of a child, we wholeheartedly enjoyed partnering with them for this festive event.
For the first time, Swoozie’s took part in the Peace, Love and Pure Fashion Show, an event that supports non-profit, Bert’s Big Adventure. Bert and the Q100 team put on a fabulous event that truly took kid-fun to the next level. Bert’s Big Adventure provides a 5 day journey to Disney® for children with a chronic and/or terminal illness and their families.
The team in Greensboro hosted an event with the lovely ladies of the Junior League of Greensboro and the Junior League of High Point. We loved being the meeting place for this organization’s shopping night at Friendly Center. These ladies shopped, mingled and sipped drinks while doing a wonderful thing, raising money for the Junior League.
Devastation brought a great deal of attention to our Alabama friends this Spring as tornadoes ravaged the state. We were so proud of our Birmingham team for their quick action with the Mid Alabama Red Cross to ensure Swoozie’s was an official drop location for collecting goods & donations to assist those who were in need after the storms. And, thank you to all those who dropped off donations for this very worthwhile cause. We are still accepting donations today.
Our Chastain Square store enjoyed a gorgeous Spring weekend in May at the Buckhead Spring Arts and Crafts Festival, launching our new line of balloons for the families of Buckhead to continue the celebration. We enjoyed being among the other local artists at Chastain Park for the two-day event that brought a huge crowd and fun for the whole family.
The ladies of Palm Beach also took part in the Art of Wine, Downtown at the Garden’s Palm Beach. In partnership with Whole Foods, guests enjoyed a fabulous wine tasting and an evening of strolling and shopping. I hear everyone learned a little something
Our ladies in Buckhead put together a fabulous care pack for my son. His house was wiped out by the tornadoes, but he had such a great spirit and was dedicated to the community. Many of our team members went to school and still have family in Tuscaloosa. We are heartbroken over the event, but proud of everyone who reached out and continues to reach out to the citizens of this devastated area.
We partnered with the Warren T. Jackson in Buckhead for a day of shopping, saving and giving back to the school. We love working with schools to foster and support educational initiatives and grow the next generation of our communities. We also hosted a group of teachers from The Galloway School to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and had them select their top gift picks for the year!
Now, as Summer “unofficially” kicks-off we’re getting ready to partner with the organization to which we have the richest history, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. They are a particularly special partner, as my late husband and co-founder of Swoozie’s, was not only a member on their Board of Directors, but also a Club Member when he was a young boy. He was always passionate about giving back and this enthusiasm continues today through our team. We cannot wait to see the big things they have planned for this year at the Chairman’s Dinner and be a part of their success again this year.
This year is off to a tremendous start, we can hardly wait to be a part of the events and traditions of the Summer, Fall and Winter months as well. If your organization has interest in partnering with Swoozie’s please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We would LOVE to hear from you!
