An Easter Celebration With Pizzazzerie

We are thrilled to have guest Courtney Dial of the popular celebration blog, Pizzazzerie here with us today for a Swoozie’s inspired Easter celebration! Courtney is one of our fabulous, inaugural “Celebration Experts” here in The Land of the Swoo so look to hear more from her throughout the year!

Easter is right around the corner so I’m going to show you some fun and easy entertaining tips to help you celebrate in style! Setting up a bright + whimsical Easter party display doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. Start off by picking some of your favorite colors. I chose Swoozie’s signature hot pink + bright orange! Keep your colors in mind as you set up your display so everything has a cohesive look when you’re finished.

Find a bright tablecloth by browsing your local fabric store. Fabric stores have lots of spring designs so get creative with stripes, polka dots, or other fun patterns! I chose a hot pink with a floral overlay because I loved both! Next, I pulled some plain glass cake stands that I already owned out of my kitchen to use on the table. White cake stands would also be a great alternative!

While browsing my local craft store, I found a simple orange planter and a few Easter buckets that I knew would be perfect for my table. I filled the orange planter with festive Easter carrots and added a grosgrain ribbon trim for a splash of hot pink. The buckets were great for filling with carrot cookies and eggs for decorating! Making little paper signs for your party display is an inexpensive way to add color and detail. I printed off a few paper signs and attached them to striped paper straws. You can also use simple bamboo skewers too!

Sweet treats are a must at Easter celebrations so I headed to my favorite local grocery store. Sometimes you might just want to embellish store bought cupcakes and treats instead of baking everything from scratch. So I picked out some floral cupcakes and added orange polka dot ribbons with a touch of glue. Easy and took less than 5 minutes! No kitchen clean up for me. For a fun treat, serve cotton candy puffs for “powder puff tails” – the kids will love these! Add in some cookies and juice, and you’re good to go!

I love scalloped boxes because they are so versatile. I filled one with bright orange tulips and another with the cotton candy. They are also great for letting guests fill with their treats (and serve as great favors boxes!)

Last but not least, every Easter celebration must involve some fun egg decorating! I’m not one for messy dyes so I opted for a cleaner and preppier “egg decorating”. Parents will also love this easy activity. Set out a variety of ribbons and trims in different colors (of course, I chose Swoozie’s colors). Other fun items to include in the mix are sticky rhinestones, glitter, sticker letters, and paint pens. Add in some glue and double sided tape for adhesives. Let the kids “go to town” and decorate their eggs!

We hope these ideas have inspired you to get a hoppin’ start to your Easter celebration this year!
